When I embarked on this build, I hadn't realized that I would need an active crossover, direct box, and an additional amp to realize the full benefits of these subs. Wayne nudged me in the right direction when I needed some guidance. After a few trips to Ebay I had this all sorted out, and the additional components arrived around the time my speakers were built.
I finished the speakers with lacquered and aged copper laminate and they look fantastic. More importantly, they sound fantastic. Wayne is absolutely right when he urges people to use flanking subs. The sound blends seamlessly with my main speakers, only I now hear the lower range as well. I now have a fabulous sound system that looks great and that I could actually afford. |
